I worked with Dave Whalen on a 6 song EP from start to finish. One of the things I was most impressed about was Dave’s creativity. His professionalism and audio production are top notch, but finding a producer with creative depth and flexibility is difficult. Dave has all of those things and more. He is an accomplished drummer, guitarist and vocalist which gives him a unique ability to not only hear the end product but produce it. You can hear His production and professionalism on every song of my 6 song EP and I am extremely satisfied with the results. I would highly recommend Dave Whalen to my closest friends with no reservation. The process was fun, creative, and highly collaborative. I would love to work with him again!

Working with Dave was amazing. I started working on a solo record and was in a bit of a pickle. I had no drummer so I started asking around, and my friend Shawn set me up with Dave. So it was on. I asked Dave to play the songs the way he would play it then waited. The results were nothing short of amazing. Being a blues/rock singer songwriter I was shocked. He did off beat on beat tasteful and dynamic fills. Where other drummers might be too showy or under-play the song, not Dave! My man brought it. I had Dave do the first 5 tunes and he worked fast, professional and by golly my man miced the Whole kit.... not to mention very reasonably priced. I asked him to cut 5 more and again, the turn around was next day. It has been a pleasure to work with Dave Whalen and I highly recommend him for any project.

The recording experience was extremely pleasant, the environment and warmth of his at studio with it’s impeccable natural acoustics were perfect for the sound I wanted. I loved our recordings; the warmth of the vocals, the fat growl of the bass, the aggressive stance of the drums, and the fierce distortion of the guitars nearly dropped my jaw when first listened to. I expected a quality product from the get go, but I never thought the recordings would sound as good as they did.

What I liked about recording with Dave was the positive attitude he always had when at work. He walked us through each step and was always willing to go the extra mile for recording the best track, he didn’t make me feel rushed. If I was not happy he was not happy. That really made the difference for us when we got our final product.
